Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft pushed a mandatory hotfix for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero today to re-lock paid DLC fighters that became playable without purchase. The quick patch follows last week’s DLC 3 Daima Character Pack 2 release, which briefly let some premium characters be selected by players who had not bought the pack. That loophole undermined paid content, so the publisher moved fast to close it.
Bandai Namco posted the fixes on X, listing two items addressed in today’s update:
- In Classic Control mode, some skill or blast commands that include a guard button were unintentionally triggering guards.
- Certain locked characters were able to be selected by mistake.
If players want to use these characters going forward, they need to purchase the Daima pack.
It was an awkward slip for anyone who expected the store rules to be enforced. The patch fixes the immediate problem for players and the publisher alike, but a few gameplay quirks were also targeted in the same update 😬. Share thoughts below and follow us on X and Bluesky.
