Baldur’s Gate 3, the epic RPG that has taken the world by storm, is about to get even better. Larian Studios, the developers behind this massive title, have revealed that players will soon have the power to alter their character’s physical appearance after the game starts, a feature previously unavailable.
Until now, once players set foot into the sprawling world of Baldur’s Gate 3, their character’s physical appearance was set in stone. The choices made during the initial character creation, from hairstyles to distinct facial features, remained permanent throughout the game. Although players had the freedom to swap out armor sets, they couldn’t modify the core aesthetic features of their character. With the upcoming update, this is all set to change.
Michael Douse, Larian’s director of publishing, hinted at this impending feature update in a recent tweet, stating that the mid-game character customization was “being cooked.” The team at Larian is committed to ensuring that players have the best experience possible, responding promptly to feedback and requests.

Since the game’s monumental launch earlier this month, Larian has displayed an impressive track record, addressing game issues and releasing hotfixes at a commendable pace. While these quick updates deal with minor issues and glitches, more extensive features, like the anticipated character customization, need more time in the development oven.
There’s more good news for fans waiting for the PS5 release of Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian confirmed that all the hotfixes and quality-of-life improvements made to the PC version post-launch will be integrated into the PS5 version, scheduled for release in September.
