If you’re a fan of Baldur’s Gate 3, this is your chance to jump into the action and help break things, or at least test them! The Patch 8 Stress Test is now live, exclusively for Xbox Insiders who own the game.

The final major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 is almost here, and it’s packed with bug fixes, new features, and so much more. But guess what? They need players like you to help catch any pesky issues before the official release.
How to Join the Stress Test on Xbox:
The stress test requires a separate application from the main game. If you want to join in, make sure you’ve got enough storage on your Xbox and follow these steps:
- Open (or install if necessary) the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox Series X|S.
- Select Previews > Baldur’s Gate 3.
- Hit Join.
- You’ll be directed to the Store Page to install the stress test version!
If you want to go back to the Patch 7 version of Baldur’s Gate 3, just exit through the Xbox Insider Hub. Keep in mind that any saves made during the stress test won’t work with Patch 7 after switching back.

Try Out Cross-Play!
Baldur’s Gate 3. That means you can team up with friends no matter where they are gaming! Want some friendly competition over who gets to romance which companion? Time to gather your buddies!
Create or join a cross-play session easily by navigating through these steps:
- Select Multiplayer from the main menu.
- Click on “Cross-Play.”
- If you’re creating a session, customize your options then select “Launch.” If joining, wait for your friend’s lobby to appear and hop in!
- If there are mods involved with discrepancies, a Verification Window will pop up telling you what needs fixing.

What else is new in Patch 8?
This patch isn’t just about fixes; it also brings exciting new features like photo mode and twelve brand-new subclasses! Let me tell you more about these additions.
New Subclasses
Patch 8 also brings 12 new subclasses – one per each existing class! Explode nearby corpses with a Death Domain Cleric, discover new ways to keep (or break) your new Oath of the Crown as a Paladin, or send a legion of bees towards your enemies as a Swarmkeeper Ranger.
