Astroneer EXO F.A.R.M. Guide Shows How to Farm Biofuel and Earn Rewards

Astroneer‘s EXO F.A.R.M. Limited Time Event turns unusual plants and seasonal ingredients into a Biofuel production loop. You will need an EXO Request Platform, the right flora, and a few carefully chosen recipes to reach the event’s cosmetic rewards. Start with an EXO Request Platform

Set up at least one EXO Request Platform at your base before you start gathering. Its control panel shows which items EXO Dynamics wants, while the holograms on the rocket provide the same information at a glance.

Each requested item has its own point value. Submitting higher-value items can help you reach the reward thresholds with fewer deliveries, although the trade goods you receive can still depend on luck.

Find Cauldrangeas on 3 planets

Cauldrangeas appear only during the EXO F.A.R.M. event on Sylva, Calidor, and Atrox. The compass marks them with an orange seed icon, but reaching one is not always a quiet gardening trip. Dangerous flora protects the plants, so clear the area before collecting what you need.

The plants also have different growth speeds. Sylva has the Leisurely variety, Calidor has Brisk, and Atrox has Swift. Once you find one, use a Packager to bring it back to your base.

Choose a Biofuel recipe

Place a Cauldrangea at your base and hover over it to cycle through the available recipes. Better ingredients produce more points, with S.O.U.P. sitting at the top of this recipe set.

• Squasholine gives 15 points from 2 Sturdysquash Samples.
• Attapetrol gives 28 points from 1 Sturdysquash Sample and 1 Mutant Spiny Attactus Seed.
• Noxothane gives 40 points from 1 Sturdysquash Sample and 1 Mutant Elegant Spewflower Seed.
• Unknown Biofuel gives 55 points from 1 Sturdysquash Sample and 1 Resipound.
• S.O.U.P. gives 70 points from 1 Sturdysquash Sample and 1 Leek.

Gather the event ingredients

Sturdysquash grows on the same planets as Cauldrangeas. Mountain areas are good places to search on Sylva and Calidor, while Atrox’s canyons can make the plant easier to spot.

• Resipound comes from Amaze plants underground on Sylva. The compass marks them with a yellow icon.
• Leeks come from Tuberyl plants in the valleys of Vesania. Look for the green compass icon.
• Mutant Seeds can turn up when you clear the ground around Cauldrangeas. They support the higher-point Sturdysquash recipes.

A small Leek farm at your base can keep S.O.U.P. production moving once you have enough Sturdysquash and a Cauldrangea ready to work.

Reach the cosmetic reward thresholds

Alongside the usual resources and modules, EXO F.A.R.M. offers four cosmetic milestones. The rewards are tied to your total event points.

• 800 points unlocks the PUM-KN Shelter and Biofuel Throwback Bundle, which includes the Galastro Cap Hat, the “Leaf Leap” Emote, and the Pollen Count Visor.
• 2,400 points unlocks the First Impact Hat.
• 5,000 points unlocks the Baublegum Visor.
• 8,000 points unlocks the Spooky Palette.

The EXO Archive gets another entry

The EXO Archive, introduced in Astroneer Patch 1.44.4, also receives a new story connected to the F.A.R.M. module. It follows conversations between Frank Capiano, Head of Maintenance in the Astroneer Training Program, and Lyn Carrington, also known as “Bl!tZ,” a former ATP hacker who is currently in custody.

The story is titled “YOU AGAIN: PART 01 – ‘BET THE F.A.R.M.'” and expands the event beyond resource gathering with another look at the Astroneer Training Program.
