Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has become such a hot topic these days, shortly after Ubisoft released the first glimpse of the game. A teaser has been followed by a gameplay cinematic, that’s been quite remarkable in the player’s eyes. Now, as the tradition specifies, this wouldn’t be adequately escorted if the entire flow was left without a comparison to the previous series, AC: Odyssey.
First, the most critical comparison that can be brought to the public is the map size. As expected, the map size of Valhalla is to be larger than Odyssey, since we’re talking about a newer generation video game title. It’s just the way of the road.
Previously, one of the unique comparisons between Origins and Odyssey was the map size. Shortly before Odyssey got teased, pundits have appeared claiming the Odyssey map will be huge compared to Origins, which it turned out to be true. Now, it seems that the very same topic is swirling around, claiming that the map of Valhalla will be quite bigger than the size of AC: Odyssey.
Again, this comparison shouldn’t be admitted as weird. For a newer video game generation, it is somewhat usual to see a bigger map. A bigger map would potentially lead to a better experience, extended gameplay, lengthy time to beat the game, but also a bigger file size if I calculated everything right.
Back to the main topic, and a proof of the confirmation about the map size of Valhalla. Ubisoft’s producer, Julien Laferriere, was recently interviewed by a known French YouTuber, Julien Chieze. Throughout the interview, Julien Laferriere has claimed that the map of Valhalla will probably be a bit bigger than Odyssey.
While we’re missing solid evidence or a real map iteration, this is the only proof we have so far. The interview has been translated on a Reddit thread, in which multiple fans have contributed to its understanding. You can find it below:
Perhaps old news for some, but according to Julien Laferrière, the map of Valhalla is "probably a bit bigger" than Odyssey
