Assassin’s Creed Shadows Will Get a New Game+ Mode and Higher Level Cap Next Week on PS5

Next week's update adds New Game+ and raises level cap from 60 to 80 in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows players on PS5 have something to look forward to next week. Ubisoft is releasing a sizable update on July 29 that introduces a New Game+ mode along with a higher level cap, which might make returning to the game pretty appealing if you’ve already completed it.

The New Game+ mode lets you start the game over while keeping your character’s level, equipment, Knowledge rank, and Hideout progress from your previous playthrough. So you won’t have to grind all over again to enjoy the story or challenges with your upgraded character. Exclusive rewards will be available to those who complete this mode, possibly including unique gear and skins. New Trophies will also be part of the update.

Alongside New Game+, the level cap is going up from 60 to 80. This boost brings more Knowledge ranks, new Mastery and Knowledge skill ranks, and fresh upgrades for your hideout facilities. It’s a good way to extend the gameplay and keep character growth meaningful after the main story.

Ubisoft is also adding a new Project that won’t interfere with your existing progress on other challenges. You’ll be able to jump into it whenever you want, which is nice since it won’t force you to put aside what you’re already working on.

Some smaller changes are planned for September. These will let players unfog the entire map by finding all the viewpoints and add the ability to move the in-game time forward. That last one might seem small, but it could be handy for those who want to see different lighting or wait for specific events.

Also in September, Claws of Awaji, the first expansion, will launch on the 16th, promising more content for fans who want to go deeper into the game’s world.

So, will you be heading back to Japan for a New Game+ run? Maybe it’s time to sharpen those blades again and see what new challenges await. Feel free to share your thoughts or plans in the comments below.
