Assassin’s Creed Shadows just got a hefty update with version 1.0.7 that’s adding a lot for players who’ve finished the main story. New Game+ is here, letting you replay the adventure with your existing skills, gear, and progress. Plus, the level cap is going up from 60 to 80, which means tougher enemies and new challenges await.
If you thought you were done with Feudal Japan, think again. You’ll be able to start New Game+ from the Memory Menu after completing all journeys of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. Each run can be taken up to eight times, with enemies getting stronger and tests getting harder. And for those who complete New Game+, there’s a reward: two new gold-plated legendary katanas with distinct perks called Whisper of Gold and Dragon’s Gold.
Alongside this, the update raises the level cap to 80, which means enemies will have sharper tactics and require smarter strategies. The Knowledge Rank system also expands to levels 9 and 10, unlocking new skills and passives. You can upgrade Naoe and Yasuke’s mastery skills and Knowledge passives to face these tougher foes. The Forge upgrade to level 4 lets you improve your gear to match the new level cap.
Three new achievements and trophies come with these additions:
- Enjoy the Ride: Reach Level 80
- Stars Unseen: Reach Knowledge Rank 10
- Worth its Wait: Obtain the Gold Katana and Gold Long Katana by completing New Game+
Some smaller but important fixes are part of the update too. For example, MacBook Air users won’t see a performance warning when using M4 anymore. The Photo Mode UI prompt bug that affected screenshots has been fixed, and items in the store now have dedicated pages.
Yikes, Katsuhime won’t disappear from your hideout after that breakup bug fix anymore, which is a relief. The trading system’s economy has been adjusted: buying costs less Mon, selling gives more, and dismantling yields more resources. Crafting materials needed for upgrades have increased slightly, but end-of-season chest rewards now offer more crafting materials and Hideout resources.
Allies get a boost with more health and damage as you level up, and Ronin enemies have gained an extra health segment, making fights a bit more challenging. Yasuke’s Teppo tree received a damage boost on the Radial Effect upgrade, doubling its base damage and benefiting from Armor Buster upgrades.
Fixes cover a wide range of gameplay and technical issues. Players stuck outside the Animus wall during the Revenge mission or inside certain areas like Saika Castle and Miyataki Warehouse should no longer encounter those frustrating bugs. Several skill and upgrade problems were corrected, such as cooldown reductions not applying properly or perks not working as intended. Even the “Wave of Wasps” now has its proper legendary perk, courtesy of Teppo.
Visual glitches like floating trees and rocks have been addressed, and the Mountain Demon Kanabo’s glowing eyes now look right when holstered. The Ikko Ikki banner in the Hideout matches its preview again, and the crashing when previewing hideout cosmetics with Dragon Skin is fixed.
UI improvements include fixing incorrect images in the database, adding HUD visibility toggles, and clarifying upgrade descriptions for features such as armor piercing and smoke bomb radius. Localization also received some attention, with German translations and typos being fixed.
Spoiler alert for quest fixes: Kimura Kei can finally be defeated in “Fighting for the Cause,” and the Paper Merchant’s position in “Butterfly Collector” has been adjusted. “Against The Koga-ryu” now progresses properly thanks to Katsuhime’s return, and other quests like “A Promise,” “Temple Stories,” “Lost Honor,” and “Homecoming” have had various issues resolved.
Platform-specific fixes target PC and Mac OS players, including achievement unlocks and correct awarding of engravings on legendary weapons.
