Update: Arena Breakout: Infinite is apparently using Escape From Tarkov code?

Update: Even Nikita, the COO of Battlestate Games has come forward and talked about today’s revelations by the community.

He revealed some additional screenshots and talked about how a prototype boss has made its way to Arena Breakout Infinite, which was supposed to be the early version of Shturman. You can find his tweets below:

People from the community have noticed what is wrong with screenshots roaming around Tarkov community.

In the meantime, we will continue to work on the game with even greater effort. There is still a lot to be done before Escape from Tarkov release and more promises to be kept. pic.twitter.com/Cv0O4J7oRR

I just stumbled across something super weird, and it appears that Arena Breakout Infinite, first mobile and now desktop game seems to be borrowing or more bluntly, copying code straight out of Escape From Tarkov. As a Tarkov lover myself, this feels super bad for both the developer and the community itself.

A community member recently reached out after diving into a cheating forum. They found evidence suggesting that Arena Breakout Infinite is not only heavily inspired by Escape From Tarkov but might have ripped off the game’s code, using the exact names of Tarkov bosses in its own game. The findings included variables like KillAIScav, KillAIScavBoss, KillAIPMC, and KillAIThemeBOSS, all of which were sourced directly from Arena Breakout’s mobile and desktop versions.

Tarkov’s bosses have unique variables for their settings. These variables shouldn’t be transferable to other games, especially ones built on different engines. Yet here they are, seemingly copy-pasted into Arena Breakout. Take a look at the screenshots yourself. On the left, you can clearly see the Tarkov boss names embedded directly in Arena Breakout’s code.

I just dumped Arena Breakout Infinite, and it uses Escape From Tarkov stuff, it's insanely funny pic.twitter.com/U019MJj0zs

Implications, implications…

So what does this mean for Battlestate Games? Earlier, they said on X that it’s a plagiarist game, which is now kind of proven, as finding Tarkov variables in Arena Breakout raises significant ethical questions.

Some folks may argue that because the two games operate on different engines, it’s not a big deal. But the reality is more nuanced. By reusing these Tarkov variables, Arena Breakout Infinite risks more than just a lawsuit, and that is the player trust.

This revelation puts Arena Breakout Infinite on the defensive, and BSG in a solid position to protect their intellectual property. If Battlestate Games decides to pursue legal action, it could have massive implications.

Arena Breakout Infinite might have caught the spotlight for all the wrong reason… so we need to stay cautious and see what’s gonna happen next. If you ask me, it’s always crucial to support the developers who strive for originality and creativity, in this case, Battlestate Games.

I’d love to hear your thoughts regarding this subject, does Arena Breakout Infinite deserve a second chance, or is this the beginning of the end for the game? Let me know in the comments below!
