Embark Studios released a small Arc Raiders bug-fix update on December 11, 2025, and players on the Stella Montis map are reporting noticeably fewer teams spawning in succession. Before the patch, multiple squads could arrive one after another and produce very large multi-team firefights, players described fourth, fifth and even sixth-party encounters. Since the December 11 update, those reports say maps rarely produce more than three active teams at a time, and many runs see only one or two opposing teams.
The update itself focused on location-specific problems on Stella Montis, including a zipline exploit and collision fixes. The studio published the fixes on Steam and the team’s community manager, Ossen, referenced a change to cadence in follow-up comments rather than listing an explicit spawn-count tweak. You can go through the recent bug fixes, if you’re interested to see what they actually changed.
Stella Montis is one of Arc Raiders’ most-played maps, with the developer noting over 25 million visits in November, so changes to how teams appear there have an outsized effect on player experience. Embark’s public notes do not enumerate a direct reduction to maximum spawned teams, but the timing of the patch and the community reports line up closely. For now, players will have to keep testing runs and report consistent findings to the developers if they want a confirmation or reversal.
I have been runnig Stella Montis myself, and I can confirm that the amount of spawns are way less than what they used to be. Now you can go and do your favorite run and even get in a gunfight without being overwhelmed by players. I am 100% positive that there has been a change that has not been detailed. So please, if you think the same happened, let me know in the comments below!
