Apex Legends received a small update on 11/10/2025 that addresses a terse but irritating audio bug. Respawn Entertainment changed the client so quips will no longer fail to play if a player triggers a new quip while another is still playing.
What changed
- Fixed quip audio not playing correctly when a new quip is selected before the prior quip finishes.
This is not a gameplay balance tweak. Quips are primarily cosmetic and social. Still, the fix matters for anyone who uses quick voice cues in the heat of combat. No more muted callouts or overlapping bite sized taunts turning into a busted jukebox mid fight.
Respawn has been shipping quick fixes like this one alongside larger stability and matchmaking patches. Players who follow recent maintenance may remember a hotfix that restored Ranked matchmaking in October and fixed several progression issues. That patch may be useful background when tracking how often small client fixes reach live servers.
Feedback on tiny annoyances like this tends to move fast. Expect the usual pattern of bug report, quick rollback or patch, then monitoring for regressions.
