A Minecraft mod now recreates Apex Legends gameplay inside blocks, complete with slides, wall-bouncing, and a roster of Legends, a Reddit post showed this week. The project was shared by user Lonely_Run2204 on Reddit. The solo developer built the mod using command blocks and assets from multiple free resources, and has already implemented seven playable Legends: Bloodhound, Vantage, Octane, Horizon, Wraith, Ash, and Mirage. Voice lines and text are currently in Chinese, and the creator said an English translation is planned.
The mod pits a three-player squad against 19 squads of advanced AI bots. Those bots can strafe, use Shield Batteries and Med Kits, and perform coordinated tactics rather than acting like static targets. Movement mechanics from Apex were recreated too, including slides, the game’s signature wall-bounce, and even niche reload animations such as the Peacekeeper flick into a 360 spin. Map work in the trailer was assembled from existing Minecraft resources, but the developer intends to rebuild a 1:1 scale map of Kings Canyon or World’s Edge later. That larger effort is paused for now because the solo creator said the project took about six months to reach its current state and they are seeking collaborators to continue development.
Community reaction on Reddit praised the level of detail. One user wrote, “The hard work and time put into this is next level,” while another called it “the most impressive thing this site has even shown me.” Players interested in how Apex itself continues to change can read more on an Apex update Dec 2 that tweaked care packages and missile recharge.
