Apex Legends May Add Legend Bans to Ranked After Season 30

The leak gives no rules for the proposed feature and reportedly excludes Season 30 from its launch window.

Apex Legends could add Legend bans to Ranked after Season 30, according to a leak posted by HYPERMYSTx. Respawn Entertainment has not announced the feature, and the claim provides no details about how it would work.

On August 3, 2026, HYPERMYSTx posted that a Legend ban system was reportedly coming to Ranked. The post did not explain how many Legends could be banned, who would choose them, or whether the system would affect every Ranked match.

What Legend bans could change

Rainbow Six Siege already uses a pre-match ban phase in which teams remove Operators from the available pool. That system is meant to keep the same powerful characters from appearing in every match, though popular picks can still survive the process.

A similar feature in Apex Legends could limit access to the most-picked Legends and make squad composition less repetitive. It could also force teams to prepare for more than the usual handful of meta choices. Those are possible effects, not confirmed goals from Respawn.

The timing is just as uncertain. The leak reportedly rules out Season 30, meaning the feature would arrive in a later season if the claim proves accurate. Until Respawn shares more information, both the system and its timing remain unconfirmed.
