Industry analyst Michael Pachter said in a recent SIFTD Games video that ARC Raiders had a total budget of about $75 million, with that number including marketing costs. Pachter called out the timeframe and staffing behind the number. He said the game was developed over roughly three years by a team of about 70 people. Pachter also stated, “ARC Raiders cost $75 million to make.”
The analyst tied that budget to the title’s commercial results. Pachter said the game has already generated roughly $500 million from more than 12 million copies sold and predicted it may approach a billion in lifetime revenue. Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders has also faced operational headwinds since launch. The developer reported what it called “extensive, coordinated DDoS attacks,” and the game has seen a surge of cheating that Embark says it is addressing. See reporting on the cheater surge here for details on the studio’s response.
The claim about the $75 million budget came toward the end of Pachter’s video discussion about broader industry budgets and how different studios compare. The full SIFTD Games segment is available on YouTube.
