Thanks to the most recent developer update covering connection issues, Amazon Games revealed that they plan to increase the server capacity soon. But to get there, they first need to test the changes thoroughly before applying them on the live servers. It’s a sad story because I was on a server before my kid accidentally turned off my router. Now I am stuck too, and I can’t even see my character in the menu, which has become even weirder than the issues we faced earlier.
“We understand that some players are experiencing lengthy queue times, and we are working hard on a few things to help address these issues.” The community expectations were somewhat different, and we expected to see at least a capacity of 16,000 concurrent players able to join the servers. It appears that currently, we are stuck at 2000 and that the excessive connection attempts by players worldwide could very well be the reason for the server choke.
They also stated that there would be new servers very soon, allowing players to migrate their characters on them. But these services are slightly distant, as the developer thinks about implementing such a feature in the “next two weeks.” What until then? Some would be able to concrete themselves on the server and level up like a god, destroy other human players, while others will have to wait for literally a whole day to join the servers. Not cool at all. We all should’ve seen this one coming, including the developers, and I do not know how we fumbled it. Until then, we’ll all have to be a bit mad, a bit sad, and a bit furious.
