Published: Dec 16, 2025 – Largo, Dota 2’s 127th hero, arrived with patch 7.40 as a Strength support who focuses on ally buffs, crowd control, and a rhythm-based ultimate that requires timing to get the most out of it.
All Dota 2 Largo abilities
Innate Ability, Encore
- Buffs that Largo applies to himself or his team have extended duration.
Encore lengthens the life of Largo’s support effects, making mana savings, damage reverberation, and other temporary bonuses more reliable across skirmishes and longer fights.
Skill 1, Catchy Lick
- Largo licks the targeted unit with his tongue, pulling it back a short distance, applying a basic dispel, and dealing damage if it’s an enemy. Dispelling (Basic Dispel) an effect from a target grants Largo temporary health regeneration.
Catchy Lick is a flexible utility spell for interrupting channels, saving allies by pulling them out of danger, and removing debuffs while giving Largo small self sustain.
Skill 2, Frogstomp
- Largo tosses froglings to an area. They stomp the ground every 1 second, dealing damage and ministuns, and enemies in the area have reduced movement speed.
Frogstomp gives area denial and repeated ministuns that disrupt enemy spellcasting and slow movement, useful for peeling and controlling chokepoints.
Skill 3, Croak of Genius
- Largo strums a tune to a friendly hero. The hero’s items and abilities have reduced mana cost and a percentage of their damage reverberates over the following 5 seconds. When an affected hero spends mana, the remaining buff duration is reduced by 0.5s.
Croak of Genius functions as a mana economy aura for a single core, lowering cast costs and adding delayed damage on hits, which lets spell-reliant heroes sustain longer in fights.
Ultimate, Amphibian Rhapsody
- Largo gets ready to groove. He is disarmed and his ability bar switches to three song abilities, each with different effects. Songs are only effective if strummed on the beat.
- Bullbelly Blitz: Increases nearby allied heroes’ spell amplification and adds magic damage to their attacks.
- Hotfeet Hustle: Increases nearby allies’ movement speed and grants brief slow resistance.
- Island Elixir: Heals nearby friendly heroes.
- Every time he strums successfully, he gains a stack of Groovin’. Each stack gives him bonus armor and reduces the mana cost of every song, but he loses a stack if he misses a beat. Stacks linger for a short duration when his song ends.
Amphibian Rhapsody is a multi-purpose teamfight tool, with each song offering a distinct benefit for offense, mobility, or sustain. Hitting beats consistently builds Groovin’ stacks that improve Largo’s resilience and song efficiency.
Largo Aghanim’s Scepter and Shard
Aghanim’s Scepter
- He can play two songs per beat by strumming both at the same time. On beats when he strums two songs, Largo deals 50 plus 10 magic damage per Groovin’ stack to nearby enemies.
The Scepter option adds direct damage on top of Largo’s support, letting him contribute offensively while keeping team utility available.
Aghanim’s Shard
- Whenever Largo applies a Unit Target buff to a friendly hero, he also gets the buff. If he targets himself, the buff is also applied to the nearest allied hero within the cast range of the targeted ability.
The Shard helps spread single-target buffs more reliably across the team, increasing overall synergy in fights.
Largo facets
At launch, Largo has a single facet:
- Musical Pilgrimmage – This facet does not have an active effect at release.
Valve may add more facets in future updates to vary his playstyle.
