Alimzhan “Alkaren” Bitimbai has taken a big step up, joining HEROIC after time spent in Spirit Academy. With the team going through some profound changes, Alkaren is ready to show he’s not just a mid player and can hang with the best.
After losing key members like Eetu “sAw” Saha and Álvaro “SunPayus” García, and with Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich moving to Spirit, HEROIC is in a rebuilding phase. Big signing Gleb “gr1ks” Gazin has already been benched, so the pressure is on the fresh faces like Alkaren to deliver.
Alkaren told HLTV at the Esports World Cup media day that he thought he’d stay with the academy, but getting the call from HEROIC was a surprise. He’s happy to be playing with more experienced players now, saying it feels more comfortable since they know the ropes better. But communication is still a challenge. English isn’t Alkaren’s first language, and he admits it’s tough at times. He’s working on it and believes things will get easier with time.
HEROIC’s upcoming match against Spirit at the Esports World Cup 2025 will be Alkaren’s first big test. He doesn’t have high expectations yet and wants to play well and not get down after the first game. Guess it’s a bit nerve-wracking jumping into such a competitive scene, right?
When asked about his goals, Alkaren was straightforward: “I want to show that I’m not mid. I want to show my level and prove that I’m able to compete at this level. And try to develop with my team and get better.” Wow, that’s a bold statement and shows he’s hungry to prove himself.
It’s a tough road ahead for HEROIC, but Alkaren’s attitude and fresh energy might just be what they need. Will he manage to rise to the occasion? Only time will tell, but I’m curious to see how he handles the pressure and if he can silence any doubters.
