Albion Online, the game that keeps us on our toes with its endless updates. When you think you’ve mastered those pesky Roads of Avalon, the Rogue Frontier Patch 1 comes along. Released on February 12, 2025, this patch promises to shake things up with some changes. Let’s break it down and see what’s cooking!
This update follows a series of combat balance tweaks and aims to enhance some underused weapons and abilities. The developers seem to be listening to player feedback, which is always a good sign! The community has considered these changes, especially after previous patches hinted at a more balanced gameplay experience.
Patch Notes
Changes
Item Destruction
- Items can no longer be destroyed if a player is ejected from the Roads of Avalon
- Many item types that previously did not create a trash item upon destruction (e.g. consumable items) began to do so with the Rogue Frontier update
- This has been reverted, and those items once again do not generate trash
- In addition, we would like to clarify the changed rate of item destruction in the Rogue Frontier update
- Equipable items had their destruction rate increased from 30% to 33%
- Non-equipable items had their destruction rate decreased from 36% to 33%
- These rates have not changed at all in this patch
Other Changes
- Energy destruction from Territory Raiding has been increased from 10% to 20%
Combat Balance Changes
Axes
Relentless Assault’s damage has been increased, to help Crystal Reaper find its place in the meta.
- Relentless Assault (Crystal Reaper)
- Damage: 90 → 105
Bows
Skystrider Bow’s Sky Bolts now deal more damage and hit more easily, especially against close-range targets.
- Sky’s Fury (Skystrider Bow)
- Dash range: 7m → 10m
- Buff duration: 3.5s → 3.75s
- Damage per bolt: 130 → 140
- Bolt hit delay: 0.6s → 0.4s
As Undead Arrows is a toggled ability with a significant downside while active, its cooldown has been reduced to make it less punishing to toggle off.
- Undead Arrows (Whispering Bow)
- Cooldown: 12s → 10s
Frost Staffs
Hoarfrost has received a significant buff to increase its baseline effectiveness.
- Avalanche (Hoarfrost Staff)

- Increased slow trail width: 4m → 5m
Shapeshifter Staffs
Pulse Shock is intended to support melee-oriented transformations, but not so strong as to be the default damaging Q. Therefore, its damage has been reduced.
- Pulse Shock (all Shapeshifter Staffs)
- Damage: 109 → 97
Following the recent range increase to Sinister Swipes, Prowling Staff has gained a lot of stickiness, and no longer requires such a strong baseline movement speed increase.
- Shadow Panther Transform (Prowling Staff)
- Transformation movement speed: 6.5 → 5.5
War Gloves
Purifying Combination’s cooldown has been increased to remove some of Fists of Avalon’s power as a non-commital mobility option.

- Dive Kick cooldown: 20s → 25s
Helmets
Circle of Inspiration’s maximum targets have been increased to make Druid Cowl more suitable for large groups.
