Publisher Dotemu will release the Threads of Fate update for Absolum on February 12, 2026 for PS5 players. Absolum is a 2025 beat-em-up that has continued to grow since launch. Dotemu described the upcoming patch as a large content and systems update that adds new challenges, environments, and rewards.
The patch centers on a named high-difficulty mode and new endgame content. As per Dotemu, this is what’s coming:
Rebels! I’m super excited to let those of you here know that we officially have a date for the Absolum 1.1 Threads of Fate update! We’re taking today to celebrate having over 500,000 of you incredible Rebels joining our cause, and we wanted to let you know that Threads of Fate will be landing in Talamh on February 12th!
We also know you Rebels are also keen to hear about Cross Play functionality, and while it won’t be landing with 1.1, it is still something we’re working on and we’ll have more news coming soon.
With SO MANY of you Rebels on board, we can’t wait to see what you think of the Threads of Fate update. Your resistance journey in Talamh upgrades soon™, and if you missed if there are a few primary elements for our Rebellion to get its head around:
- New Challenges – the new Mystic Ordeals add a little extra challenge for end-game Rebels. Select from pre-made challenges or design your own and share your challenge with the world.
- An Evolving World – with corrupted biomes bringing stronger enemies and enhanced rewards for Rebels who face the challenge
- Upgraded Mounts – bringing new, improved abilities and harder-hitting punishment against the hordes of the Crimson Order
- Enhanced Customization – with new options for skins and emotes for all four of our Rebel heroes.
The publisher specifically notes that some skins will be unlockable through challenges, though it did not clarify whether those are newly introduced challenges or existing ones repurposed for unlocks. Push Square reports that Absolum has sold more than 500,000 copies. The game previously passed 200,000 sales within its first week on the market, and Dotemu’s update follows that early momentum.
