Fallout 76’s Ghoul Update Marred by Game-Breaking Bug

Players are encountering a frustrating glitch in the new Fallout 76 ghoul quest.

The universe of Fallout 76 is once again shaken, and not for reasons fans might hope. The freshly launched Ghoul Within update has players scratching their heads as reports of a game-breaking bug surface, causing chaos among those daring enough to tackle the new ghoul quest. It’s like stepping into the Wasteland only to find that your map is upside down.

A Reddit user known as Both_Emu_2131 took to the Fallout 76 Subreddit, detailing their harrowing experience with this glitch. Picture this: you’re customizing your ghoul character when bam! A server disconnect strikes, leaving you stuck with no way forward in your quest. Instead of moving ahead after becoming a ghoul, your mission log taunts you with an objective that won’t budge: start the ghoul-conversion process.

“You are completely blocked from making any further progress in the storyline,” they lamented on Reddit. Imagine reloading your save file only to find that while you’re still decked out as a ghoul, all narrative progression feels like it’s playing hide and seek, with you losing every time. The post continues, “In order to ‘complete the ghulification,’ you need to pass out from radiation and wake up in the next room.” But here’s where it gets even stickier: ghouls can’t die from radiation damage! So there they were, trapped in a loop of failure and disconnects.

MAJOR game breaking bug with the new ghoul update please be careful.

This isn’t an isolated incident either; other players have chimed in with tales of frustration echoing through various comments on that same post. User UnluckyAnywhere889 expressed relief at eventually getting past one tricky part but then found themselves fighting against frequent disconnections afterward, an actual test of patience if there ever was one!

The emergence of these bugs feels all too familiar for Fallout 76. With developers Bethesda having faced scrutiny over technical issues since launch day back in late ’18, it seems things aren’t quite settled yet for this favorite franchise despite small wins like last year’s successful tie-in with Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV show.

The Ghoul Within update was showcased during last June’s Xbox Showcase event before Season 20 kicked off under the title Glow Of The Ghoul. This latest patch is just one piece of what’s promised throughout Season Twenty; let’s hope future updates come without such troublesome surprises!

If you’ve encountered similar problems, have tips on navigating these annoying bugs or perhaps stories about hilarious mishaps while playing, don’t keep them bottled up! Share your adventures below; let’s commiserate together as we tackle these Wasteland woes head-on!
