Last Friday, Alan Wake 2 entered its era, and Remedy Entertainment didn’t waste any time rolling out the first set of patches. Over the weekend, they focused on the PC and PS5 versions, and come Monday, Xbox users had their share of updates too.
The patches vary slightly depending on the platform. For PC users, the new update (version 1.0.6) mainly includes bug fixes and localization improvements, making it easier for players worldwide to engage with the game. Importantly, they’ve also introduced a new, easier-to-understand error message for those annoying instances when third-party software interferes with the game startup.
Xbox users received their update on Monday, version 1.0.0.4, and it’s a bit more extensive. Besides the usual bug fixes, Remedy addressed multiple visual and UI issues that players pointed out. One notable fix is for a pesky issue where players would get stuck during interactions and couldn’t get out.
It’s not just about fixes, though. Remedy is also looking into a problem on the Xbox where the audio seems to cut off. They are aware and are working on it.
