Blizzard is joining forces with Korean pop group LE SSERAFIM for a unique in-game collaboration in Overwatch 2. This partnership, set to go live on November 1, includes a new game mode inspired by the group and exclusive in-game items like Legendary skins. Fans will get a sneak peek of the details on October 30.
Though it might initially seem like a strange pairing, LE SSERAFIM is slated to perform at BlizzCon 2023 on November 4. They will perform their new single, “Perfect Night,” with a music video set for release on October 26 at 9 PM PDT. Considering their involvement with Overwatch 2, it wouldn’t be surprising if the video incorporates elements or nods to the popular game.
Overwatch 2 is in its seventh season, themed “Rise of Darkness,” which includes a tie-in with another Blizzard title, Diablo 4. The season’s PvE co-op mode, Trials of Sanctuary, allows players to pick from six characters that embody classes and characters from the Diablo series. The new LE SSERAFIM collaboration will add another layer of excitement to a season already quite full of content.
The official Overwatch blog confirmed the collaboration, stating that it marks Overwatch 2’s first-ever in-game musical artist partnership. LE SSERAFIM, composed of members KIM CHAEWON, SAKURA, HUH YUNJIN, KAZUHA, and HONG EUNCHAE, is one of the fastest-growing K-pop groups right now. Their new single “Perfect Night” will be part of the content released in this collaboration.
For those interested in catching LE SSERAFIM’s live performance, tickets for BlizzCon 2023 are currently available through the event’s official site. The group will take the stage in the BlizzCon Arena, adding their musical flair to the event after the conclusion of Community Night.
