In a remarkable feat, Ubisoft has declared Assassin’s Creed Mirage its most successful new-generation game launch in terms of units sold. Released on October 5 across various platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, the game has enjoyed a solid opening week. A version for iPhone 15 Pro is also in the pipeline for early 2024.
Ubisoft made the big announcement this past Wednesday, confirming that the launch statistics align with their past hits like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The company expressed gratitude for the positive reception: “We are proud to share that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the biggest New Gen launch in unit sales to date at Ubisoft.”
The game was developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the team that worked on the Wrath of the Druids expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The team has received praise for this latest installment, which is a return to the series’ roots, focusing on parkour, stealth, and assassinations.
Ubisoft shared some quite interesting stats from the game’s first week. According to the company, players have spent a combined total of 479 years running and jumping on the rooftops of Baghdad. Additionally, the game saw 60 million Leaps of Faith and a heartwarming 1.2 million street cats pet by players.
In a note to fans, Ubisoft expressed their happiness over the game’s positive reception and alignment with the 15-year legacy of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. They said, “Thank you all for joining us on Basim’s journey in 9th Century Baghdad! We are thrilled by the response from the community.”
