In what can only be described as a subdued disclosure, Ubisoft has announced the return of Julian Gerighty to the universe of The Division as its Executive Producer, signaling the development of The Division 3. The news broke through a low-key press release and a singular tweet from Massive Entertainment’s official account.
The association of Julian Gerighty with The Division is not new. He became a part of the Tom Clancy’s The Division team as its Associate Creative Director in 2014, having been captivated by the game’s potential at E3 2013. He recalls being drawn to the immersive gameplay, open-world RPG elements, and the promise of cooperative PvP. Gerighty played a key role in shipping the first title in 2016 and later steered The Division 2 as its Creative Director. His experiences brought life to the post-pandemic streets of Washington, D.C.
Julian Gerighty has been appointed Executive Producer for the Tom Clancy’s The Division brand. Julian will oversee all games and products, including Tom Clancy’s The Division 3, led by Massive Entertainment who is actively building a team for the game.

Now, with a stellar record behind him, Gerighty has set his sights on The Division 3, and other intriguing projects within the brand’s universe, such as the mobile game Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence and the still-awaited Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland.
However, before fully immersing himself in The Division, Gerighty is committed to ensuring the success of Star Wars Outlaws, a title he currently oversees as its Creative Director.
Despite having a player base exceeding 40 million, Gerighty believes The Division is still in its nascent stage as a franchise. He envisions numerous story arcs, locales to venture into, and narratives to unfold. One of his core aspirations for The Division 3 is to solidify the brand identity, ensuring that every single rendition of The Division is synonymous with the highest quality.
On his approach, Gerighty mentioned, “It’s about refinement, it’s about pushing the quality bar consistently forward.” He emphasized that the quality benchmark set by the previous titles would be carried forward, if not surpassed, in the future installments.
Reassuring fans about the franchise’s future, Gerighty praised the talent pool at Ubisoft. “There are a huge number of talented developers currently working on the brand, and I think that having more consistency can only make everybody’s work sing,” he remarked.
