Resident Evil 4, which has already made significant waves this year with its exceptional remake, is ready to surprise fans again. Amidst previous speculations and leaks, Capcom has confirmed that the beloved “Separate Ways” campaign, featuring the mysterious Ada Wong, is being revived and integrated into the RE4 remake.
Capcom’s recent reveal at the State of Play presentation has set the community on fire. A trailer (embedded above) gave fans a sneak peek into Ada Wong’s mission, a parallel narrative to Leon S. Kennedy’s mission to save the President’s daughter, Ashley. This immersive side-story allows players to experience the game from a different perspective, showcasing Ada’s unique combat skills, gadgets, and intricate storyline.
In addition to the Separate Ways expansion, the highly addictive Mercenaries mode will also see a substantial update. Confirming previous rumors, Albert Wesker, the infamous series antagonist, will join the Mercenaries roster as a playable character. Given Wesker’s impressive abilities and his central role in the Resident Evil lore, his inclusion will revitalize the mode and offer players a fresh challenge. The best part? This Mercenaries mode update comes at no extra charge, promising to enhance the replayability of an already robust game.
Aside from these imminent updates, Resident Evil 4 enthusiasts can also look forward to a VR Mode, optimized for the PS VR2, releasing this Winter. Additionally, with the game’s expansion to the iPhone 15 Pro, fans and newcomers will have even more avenues to experience this horror masterpiece.
Resident Evil 4’s remake, which has garnered rave reviews from critics and players, is available on multiple platforms, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The new content for Separate Ways and The Mercenaries mode is set to drop on September 21, further solidifying RE4’s position as one of this year’s must-play titles.
