After much speculation and anticipation, the upcoming wrestling game AEW: Fight Forever has an official release date. THQ Nordic and Yuke‘s, the partnership responsible for bringing this game to life, confirmed that the title would launch on June 29, 2023. It will be available across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
The announcement of the release date put to rest the flurry of rumors and leaks that had previously suggested a June launch. AEW superstar Kenny Omega, a well-known gaming enthusiast and executive vice president at AEW, revealed the news in a promotional video. He also confirmed that the game is now available for pre-order and pre-loading.
AEW: Fight Forever is being touted as an “arcade experience” that is easy to learn but difficult to master. It offers online and single-player modes, including a career mode that allows players to create and customize their wrestler, chooses from various match types, and much more.
Notably, the game is being developed by Japanese studio Yuke’s, which announced in 2020 that it was working on a top-tier console game for AEW. Adding further intrigue to the game’s development is the involvement of Hideyuki Iwashita, the director of classic fighting games like WWF No Mercy and Def Jam Vendetta.
AEW: Fight Forever represents a new chapter in the wrestling gaming industry and promises to offer fans a fresh alternative to engage with the AEW stars. This June, gamers and wrestling fans will experience the outcome of this ambitious project for themselves.
