Riot Games has revealed its thoughts on Patch 13.7. In it, we can see Riot Axes and Riot Phroxzon discussing the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) balance, recent Vayne changes, and the current state of ADCs and Fighters.
MSI Balance Tuning
MSI is set to take place during Patch 13.8, and the last set of MSI-focused changes will be introduced in Patch 13.7. Riot aims to increase diversity by nerfing famous jungle champions like Sejuani, Vi, Wukong, and Lee Sin. Thresh and Zeri will also see adjustments to their crowd control and overall strength, while Azir will receive moderate buffs after his power redistribution.
Riot Axes addresses the recent changes to Vayne in Patch 13.6. The goal was to buff Vayne disproportionately for higher-level players, as she had been underperforming and balanced around players who found her most frustrating to play against. Riot knows concerns regarding ranged top laners and will act if Vayne dominates in the top lane. However, at the moment, the perception of her position does not match reality.
ADCs and Fighters
The balance between ADCs and Fighters has been a roller coaster this season. Patch 13.7 will see a partial revert to Death’s Dance, with the item regaining Ability Haste but maintaining its nerfed healing amount. This comes after ADC nerfs to several items in Patch 13.6, as well as a reduction in the importance of early-game dragon control.
Riot believes both classes are nearing a stable state, but further fine-tuning is necessary. Long-term changes to the Mythic item structure for both classes are anticipated, and one opportunity under consideration for the preseason is the ability to tune roles more holistically against each other.
