World of Warcraft goes down for emergency maintenance

It appears that the developers behind World of Warcraft have failed something during the development of the December 8th update. Luckily I was online when the update was deployed, and shortly after it, players had huge disconnection issues right after login. Even if you reconnected to the server, you would experience the same issue multiple times in a row.

This disconnection loop had to be addressed, so Blizzard has decided to start emergency maintenance and take the World of Warcraft servers down. While it seems weird that the anomaly has been present for a longer period, this server maintenance was sort of inevitable.

If you start the game, you’re now greeted with the message: No servers are currently available, while the MOTD says they have been brought offline for emergency maintenance.

We will be performing an emergency maintenance and the game will be unavailable during this time. Thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
