As we’re coming closer to the release of the second season in The Cycle: Frontier, let’s see what exactly was revealed by Yager during the past string of events. We’re just eight days away from its release, so it’s time to sharpen our teeth and prepare for munching. The ending of the old and the release of the new season will be concluded with an event called the Cataclysm. Could it be a Fortnite-style event?
As the most recent information, the developer posted concept art of the upcoming map called Tharis Island, which details revealed that Korolev was the first faction to discover it. Tharis Island will be home to new creatures and unforgiving wildlife full of bloodlust. Their sense of human presence will probably be heightened, and their sinister actions catastrophic for the civilization.

What’s coming with The Cycle Frontier Season 2?
Tharis Island Details
Tharis Island is intended to be the most challenging and intense map in the game. This map has first been revealed years before the Cycle hit, with Korolev being the first faction to discover it. This means that the quests over there would likely be from the Korolev faction rather than others.
The map itself offers new and endangering wildlife, unlike in the other two maps, alien artifacts and a labyrinthian cave system that humans barely even reached. Those who went inside either lost their lives or came back mad. 30 years later, prospectors will finally be able to reveal the secret behind the Tharis underbelly.
Compared to other maps, Tharis Island puts emphasis on interior spaces, light and darkness, and vile and mysterious activity which is hidden deep within its depths. Walking blindly or without bringing the necessary equipment might be life-ending for each prospector.
Gear Perks
The mysterious activity on Tharis Island will be connected to perks, which will probably be attainable upon performing some sort of operation. This would distort the armor and ammunition values, and as the developers say, they will no longer have the same importance or purpose as before. As for how exactly these features work remains unknown, but the perks that were mentioned might indeed be permanent and glued to the gear upon extraction. In this way, imbibers would feel more special.
New Campaign Missions
Tharis Island will be unlocked by progressing through the existing campaigns, but there will be new subsequent quests tied to the new map that will ask players to dive deeper and uncover its underground tunnels. Main campaigns will be slightly reworked with new types and conditions rather than grinding repetitive tasks.
Fortuna Pass
This is the fancy Battle Pass name in The Cycle Frontier. With the release of Season 2, a new Battle Pass will be released with new cosmetics, gameplay rewards and improved balance progression.
Reconnect
A reconnect feature is coming with Season 2 that will allow players to reestablish connection with the server without losing their gear upon network failure or disconnection. Disconnections and crashes will no longer be feared, and players wouldn’t need to worry about the losses.
Anti-Cheat improvements
The anti-cheat remains the number one priority for the developer, despite the ongoing war and never-ending fight with the cheaters. With the major season patch, the anti-cheat measures are likely going to be improved. After the obstacles deployed with Season 2, cheating should be more difficult, annoying, and costly as per the developer.
Ping Restrictions
The Cycle Frontier will introduce a ping restriction that will prevent players from hopping onto servers outside of their region. This in-general should provide a much smoother gameplay experience for everyone and minimize the desync to a bare minimum. This is supposed to land shortly after the launch of Season 2.
QoL Improvements
Sorting items or showing stack sizes in the shop should no longer be difficult, as this is also highlighted among the list of changes queued for Season 2. Bookmarking and tracking recipes, bulk buying gear from shops and other additional improvements are scheduled.
Balancing
With the launch of Season 2, the balancing will be slightly different. Each armor tier will matter respectively to its grade, and the developer has tuned the armor sufficiently enough, so it feels encouraging and more compelling wearing it. In this way, low-geared players might find it slightly bit difficult to overcome encounters with high-geared players, but rest assured, it will all come down to skill.
Additional Content
Aside from Season 2 content, some of the features that will be added in the upcoming seasons are as follows:

- The Howler, a flying mini-boss that roams Fortuna III.
- Sci-fi guns.
- New maps that showcase wilder parts of Fortuna III.
