The developer of Godfall, Counterplay Games, is working on a brand new unannounced video game title. Judging by the first indications given by the job listing recently posted by the developer, the game evolves around the co-cop action fantasy shooter genre. Even though Godfall did not have the shiniest of game launches and early period, the recovery of it was quite successful.
So, are you interested in this new project by Counterplay Games? Judging by the job listing, the developer seeks talent to work on “an unannounced cooperative action fantasy shooter,” also classified as “live operations AAA gaming.”
It feels like the gaming industry lacked an exciting co-op game throughout the past couple of years, considering a couple of them have been stuck in development, such as Dying Light 2. Like it or not, seeing a project of this caliber institutes a lot of excitement for me. Simply said, we need more of these games, as tackling a bunch of AI controller mobs with friends could be not only exciting but also very challenging.
So, until further details are revealed we can only guess what kind of shooter this would turn out to be. But considering it’s from the studio behind Godfall, we have to give it a breathing room and hope for the best. Hopefully, the developer learned from its mistakes with Godfall and will now deliver ground zero perfection since day one.
