Ubisoft has given thumbs up to a remake of its most popular stealth shooter game, Splinter Cell. On Wednesday, it was confirmed that a Splinter Cell Remake is in development, with the developer behind it being Ubisoft Toronto. The game will be rebuilt on Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine from the ground up. The same engine was used to develop Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and the upcoming Star Wars game in collaboration with LucasFilm Games.
Three developers shared their thoughts on the series and what makes it such a revelation. Creative Director Chris Auty, Producer Matt West and Technical Producer Peter Handrnos have revealed their thoughts on this project and showed its importance for the whole team. The team player is heavily into consideration when preserving this game for future generations while also noting how innovative its gameplay was at its time.
