Bohemia Interactive has announced that a small hotfix will be released for DayZ’s update 1.13. This is, in total, the third hotfix and will require 1-hour maintenance for its full deployment. This update introduces a slight change to how the Steam query works with DayZ. Apparently, players will no longer be available to query for the player list through Steam, limiting them in getting some viable data.
The official announcement came from DayZ’s official Twitter profile, which confirms the termination of the servers. It is weird to see the servers going down for a complete hour for this change, but it’s probably mandatory for the changes to occur.
This change should prevent extra data from being relayed to some tech-savvy players, such as the exact number of players on a server. You can find the official announcement below:
