Valheim’s success is still zooming, getting closer to a more authentic shape in popularity. Even if the game is still in ascending phase, the so-far reached portion is surprising. The game has threaded millions of players in just a couple of weeks, and today there’s another reason for celebration. Valheim has managed to sell 5 million copies worldwide. Considering its Early Access status, we believe this is just the beginning of the journey.
In the celebration post, Iron Gate has addressed the Five Million Vikings looking for ancient treasures.
Vikings!
You’ve done it again! As you are reading this, the Valkyries have ferried more than FIVE MILLION souls to Valheim to uncover ancient treasures, sail savage seas, and secure the tenth norse world.
During the little time you’ve spent in Valheim, all five million of you managed to:
- Spend more than 15,000 years playing Valheim
- Watch more than 35 million hours of gameplay Twitch
- Pushed us to number 39 in the best user-reviewed games on Steam of all time
- Made our five-person strong team excited to come to work (virtually) each and every single day (that’s one person per million sales, by the way!)
Valheim is undoubtedly one of the best exploration and survival games. With Valheim supporting procedural generation, players may found themselves on a never-ending and exciting journey. Previously, Valheim has managed to sell 4 million copies. The 5 million players milestone has occurred in less than a week since its previous achievement. Iron Gate should be proud of its creation, as Valheim managed to knock open some steel doors.
It’s worth noting that Valheim is still in Early Access. There haven’t been many games reaching this state during this phase. Rarely and very rarely gems like this manage to suffice, particularly during their Early Access.
