Remedy Entertainment reached the highest annual revenue in 2020. What’s surprising in this statement is that in achieving this goal, Remedy Entertainment hadn’t released any video game during the same year when the achievement was claimed.
Thanks to Control, the critically acclaimed action-adventure, Remedy Entertainment has seen a massive increase in-game sales. The COVID-19 pandemic may also be taken as a factor in this achievement, which has led to multiple publishers reaching high numbers in sales.
Control has released new DLCs and arrived on other platforms, including a next-gen release on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 this month. A cloud-based version was also released for the Nintendo Switch in late 2020, which might have been an additional factor for this achievement.
The Finnish studio hasn’t released a new title in almost 2 years. Based on the latest financial results, the profit for 2020 reached $13.2 million, which is more than double what the company achieved in 2019. This is not the last part, as the company is expecting additional growth in 2021 thanks to its arrival on the next-gen consoles.
