Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Ubisoft Massive would focus on a new project related to the Star Wars universe. So far, Massive’s central focus was The Division, an open-world looter-shooter projected with many achievements. The second installment of the series fell slightly behind but didn’t collapse completely. All in all, The Division was a reliable journey for the lovers of the genre, and what’s more exciting is that hardcore fans of the franchise shouldn’t be worried, despite Massive’s redirection to a new Star Wars title.
Massive has confirmed that no matter their focus, The Division 2 will keep on striving for a while. Even if there’s almost no possibility of seeing a “The Division 3” title being developed, Massive Entertainment will still deliver content for The Division 2, as they discovered in an official Twitter post today.
Today, we are thrilled to confirm that were will be additional content for The Division 2 released later this year! pic.twitter.com/LRlTwVZEtp

Just a reminder. On January 13, Massive Entertainment has started a new collaboration with Lucasfilm Games that opened new doors for the developer to work on a new story-driven open-world Star Wars video game. We do not doubt Massive’s skillset of developing a wonder in the Star Wars universe, notably due to The Division franchise’s capabilities. Most importantly, The Division fans won’t be saddened because Massive will apparently still focus on developing content for The Division 2 throughout the year of 2021.
