EA Play has almost 13 million active users

Electronic Arts’ subscription service, after the spread onto Steam, has managed to reach new heights. Not to forget the impact from Xbox and PlayStation too, The service reached distant numbers in just the last year, on multiple platforms.

EA Play was born after the formerly known EA Access, Origin Access Basic, and Origin Access Premier was put to a halt. After its rebrand, EA’s most recent quarterly fiscal earnings have proven that active players’ hike is very positive and reached nearly 13 million.

In the report, EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson stated the following:

We’re also expanding our lead in subscriptions. The groundbreaking integration of our EA Play service with Microsoft Game Pass has accelerated our subscription business, with nearly 13 million players now active
in our service across four platforms – Xbox, PlayStation, Steam and our EA client. With more players valuing the subscription model, and with our scale across platforms and content, we are building a strong, growing business with recurrent revenue. We also have new streaming players joining our network through Xbox Cloud Gaming with Game Pass Ultimate and other
partners, and we are committed to advancing cloud as a meaningful part of the future gaming ecosystem.

It is very clear how the exposure to multiple platforms has helped EA grow quite a lot.
