The next Battlefield game will be huge according to EA

While the current Battlefield failed the expected goals, the next one will hopefully break records. The next Battlefield game is estimated to launch in 2021. EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson also believes it will be a big one, exactly what he stated in ‘prepared remarks‘ for EA’s report.

According to Wilson:

DICE is creating our next Battlefield game with never-before-seen scale.

The next Battlefield is set to launch in holiday 2021, and we are excited to share a lot more about the game in the spring.

He also confirmed that some internal playtests are ongoing for what’s to be Battlefield’s next installment. Following 2018’s Battlefield 5, this is very much needed for EA.

We have hands-on play testing underway internally, and the team’s
been getting very positive feedback on the game as we’ve begun to engage our community.

Knowing that Activision has a CoD title planned for 2021, we may see rough competitiveness between those two. We can easily agree that currently, the FPS player base leans more towards CoD than Battlefield, which is exactly why EA should focus on a much bigger scale Battlefield title.

Furthermore, according to other statements in the same document, Electronic Arts is hanging basically to all the successful titles such as Apex Legends, The Sims, FIFA 21, which development and update will never stop. However, there was not a single mention of Anthem’s reboot, which kind of made us sad.
