The Battle Royale genre usually persist in the long term, but what if one of them does the opposite of what’s supposed to be the last man standing multiplayer game. Well, Apex Legends may be the first one to stray from its original direction. Worry not. All of that would be for the greater good since the Battle Royale genre sometimes is known for its repetitiveness.
Apex Legends is just before its 7th season, bringing many new additions to the game, such as a map, new legend, and faster rotation vehicles. Even though most of the Battle Royale developers, such as Epic Games, adopted live events during a season transition to ensure much crisper entertainment, Apex Legends may take a different road. Infinity Ward, for example, wants to include different playlists or LTMs to indulge fresh gameplay. This is why Respawn Entertainment is taking into consideration a similar move, and judging by the looks at the others; it won’t be a failure.
In a recent interview with Eurogamer, the game director Chad Grenier stated the likeability of Apex Legends adding different game modes that won’t represent the same old last man standing experience. An expansion that will offer a lot more than just a Battle Royale and a backup plan to sustain a robust player base.
Right now we’re a battle royale game. I think if you look into the future, we have a lot of conversations of, you know, should we expand beyond battle royale? We have this roster of legends that people love – how else can we use them? I think looking into the future, you’re probably going to see the game becoming more than just a battle royale game. You see we have all these LTMs (limited time modes) and other ways to play. I think that’s a great starting point.
With this statement. Apex Legends might be branching out to different game modes that are most likely going to differ from the standard Battle Royale. We shall see whether LTMs or other permanent game modes will reach far more than Apex Legends’ BR universe
They need to do it already. Waste of f****** potential. There is no better time to come out with an Apex legends FPS team deathwatch 6v6 type of game. They can Include campaign and get that story mode itch they always wanted to scratch. They have great animators and the mechanics in this game are f****** beautiful, they rival call of duty . F**k apex legends battle royale , f**k titan fall 3. WE WANT A APEX FPS GAME NOW. CODS New game will flop, there is no better opportunity to steal fans and create a new long lasting community . Clubs and clans will actually make sense . Imagine clan wars with streamer clans and streamer skins in the shop for players to wear in team deathwatch or capture the flag mode. So many possibilities and potential yet they insist on letting it all go to waste. Such a shame!
