Spider-Man Marvel’s Avengers PlayStation Exclusivity is just bad

It’s quite shocking to hear about Spider-Man, a character from the MCU universe scheduled to arrive at Marvel’s Avengers, to be exclusively available on the PlayStation. It is treachery and disturbing to understand that our childhood hero, Spider-Man will be available in Crystal Dynamics’ Avengers but only on PlayStation. Does any of this make sense?

We’ve noticed games being exclusively available on various platforms, but very rarely had an option to get access to a character only if we own a particular platform. We call this nonsense by Sony, even if they have partial ownership over Spider-Man.

It’s a hero that should be available to all platforms, and it somewhat puts Sony in the wrong position as well. Not integrating a character that’s a part of the MCU into what’s supposed to be a significant title could hurt not only those who won’t have a chance of playing him but also the dirigent himself.

Therefore, the game’s storyline will most likely avoid Spider-Man and only involve the first six heroes that are destined to arrive with the launch. Those are Black Widow, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Ms. Marvel, and Iron Man.

Square Enix and Sony should be ashamed of what they’ve done. Selfishly imprisoning iconic MCU character, Spider-Man, to be exclusively available on the PlayStation, is a wrong model. Especially bad in 2020, where people are incredibly aware of misconduct and malicious promotions. Good luck on this one, Sony.
