It’s not just Japan that notices a high number of sales resulting in emptied store shelves. Instead, this phenomenon has engulfed the whole world. Ghost of Tsushima has sold over 2.4 million copies in the first three days of launch, PlayStation has claimed officially.

Over on Twitter, PlayStation has confirmed the achievement and bestowed Ghost of Tsushima as PS4’s fastest-selling first-party original IP. An enormous debut with over 2.4 million copies sold worldwide. Globally, this is a remarkable result for Sucker Punch, which is more likely aiming to sustain a similar pace in the future.
In Japan solely, Ghost of Tsushima’s sale numbers in the first three days of launch reached 212,915. This number has managed to beat Death Stranding’s 185,909 initial sales and with that marked the highest first-week sales for a first-party PlayStation 4 title in Japan.
