Escape from Tarkov’s Player Split Puts 60% in PvE
Buyanov attributes the split partly to PvP's event-and-season cycle, while PvE activity stays steadier through a wipe.
Escape from Tarkov’s current player split puts PvE at 60%, ahead of regular PvP at 25% and PvP Season at 15%. Battlestate Games head Nikita Buyanov shared the figures on X.
So, here is current stat of players split in #Tarkov
25% PvP
15% PvP Season

PvE’s share is 20 percentage points higher than both PvP categories combined. The figures are proportions across three modes, not raw player totals, and Buyanov gave no reporting period or calculation method.
The split differs sharply from Buyanov’s August 12 breakdown, which put PvP Season at 55%, PvE at 38%, and regular PvP at 7%. Compared with that snapshot, PvE is up 22 percentage points, PvP Season is down 40, and regular PvP is up 18. Both sets of figures are snapshots, not a permanent measure of mode preference.
[Discussion] 60% of Players are in PVE

In a follow-up post, Buyanov placed the split in the context of Tarkov’s wipe cycle. He said PvP players tend to burn through content faster and return around events while waiting for the next season, while PvE activity stays relatively steady through a wipe. He also rejected reading the snapshot as proof that PvP has lost its place in Tarkov.
this is a natural part of Tarkov’s gameplay cycle. PvP players burn through content much faster, then mostly return for events while waiting for the next season – in this case, Season 2.
PvE players are the more consistent audience, maintaining relatively steady activity… https://t.co/IQgZ9dpVGu

The PvE Zone DLC is a paid add-on listed on Steam for $29.99, with seasonal promotions offering discounts of up to 15%. The reported 60% share is therefore the audience for a separately purchased mode, rather than a free mode included with the game.
The in-game counter currently points to December 7 for Season 2, providing a future reference point for another player-split snapshot.
