Dying Light: The Beast Update 1.8.1 Adds Embody’s Spatial Audio
The optional mode works with standard stereo headphones, includes a 14-day trial, and leaves default audio unchanged when switched off.

Update 1.8.1 for Dying Light: The Beast is live, bringing Embody’s Immerse Gamepack and personalized 360-degree spatial audio to the game. The feature also works in Dying Light 2: Stay Human, according to Techland’s Steam announcement.
The optional Enhanced Headphone Mode is available under Settings > Audio. It uses directional sound tuned to a player’s ears and headphones to help locate approaching Infected, and works with standard stereo headphones or earbuds. Leaving it off preserves the game’s default audio.
Players get 14 days of full access from launch across both games without needing a credit card or subscription. After the trial, an optional lifetime license costs $19.99 USD per platform.
The release follows the Oct. 30-Nov. 1 Hear More Fear Streamfest, where participating creators let viewers hear the Gamepack during streams. A Dying Light website guide covers setup, ear scans, and frequently asked questions.
Would 14 days be enough time to judge whether directional audio helps you track approaching Infected? For more on Dying Light’s audio features, stay connected through X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
