Psyonix, the developer of Rocket League, has just announced that the game won’t be hidden behind a paywall any longer. This summer, Rocket League will become a free-to-play title after nearly five years of existence.
As per the official announcement made by Psyonix, the developer is praising the move to lead to an enlarged community but hasn’t specified an official date regarding the free-to-play game. Probably the game will concede an ordinary Epic Games promotion that will kick-off the free-to-play period.
Rocket League is a super fun vehicular soccer game that requires an exceptional amount of skill. High ranking players have already been intriguing to watch and how they, in some words, defy gravity.
Psyonix decided to join Epic Games on their journey, and once Rocket League becomes available on the Epic Games Store, it will be for free. Existing players will receive love by the developer with exclusive rewards for being a part of Rocket League before it goes free-to-play. Just a note, once the swap to the new digital redistribution platform occurs, the game won’t be available on Steam any longer.
Psyonix has also mentioned that the gameplay will remain the same, but there are significant changes scheduled to arrive.
