Derelikt will bring a missing-person investigation and a dose of late-1990s sci-fi horror to PS5 on November 13, 2026. Its retro look draws on the original PlayStation era, but survival involves more than fighting whatever is waiting in the dark.
Players arrive as an outside contractor looking into the disappearance of Excavation Team Delta. Their search leads to Von Neumann Outpost, built onto an anomalous asteroid in Saturn’s orbit. The facility is struggling with failing systems, exhausted workers, and a mysterious drone that is pushing people closer to their limits.
Survivors offer conflicting accounts, and more than a dozen characters have their own secrets and agendas. Some can help, while others pose a danger. Alongside those conversations, players will manage resources, solve puzzles, and search the outpost.
Combat moves quickly and draws on an arsenal that includes conventional weapons as well as experimental prototypes and alien weapons found during the journey.

How Derelikt Recreates Its Retro Look
The game’s visuals use hand-painted textures, vertex color lighting, and deliberately warped textures. Its developers also used dynamic geometry subdivision to temper that warping, a technique inspired by high-end games of the period. Retro-style CGI cutscenes round out the presentation.
Players can turn visual effects on or off to suit their tastes, the team said in its PlayStation Blog announcement. Derelikt has been in development in some form since late 2021.
Preorders are available on the PlayStation Store with a 10% discount ahead of release.
