STALCRAFT: X‘s Shock Wave quest centers on a scheme to break up the alliance between Typhoon and the Black Market. ZIVCAS fears the partnership could lead to a new monopoly, and a Steam announcement introduces crisis-manager Liv Kehler as the operative sent to disrupt it.

Typhoon is a Korean-American contingent that also protects the Black Market, leaving ZIVCAS unable to act openly against the partnership. Kehler plans to use the Seeker to pit the allies against one another. Players will learn whether he succeeds by completing Shock Wave.
