Car Mechanic Simulator 2027’s multiplayer demo will be available Oct. 21, giving players a chance to try the game alongside another player ahead of its planned Q1 2027 release. Red Dot Games confirmed the date in its Steam announcement and renamed the project from Car Mechanic Simulator 2026 to Car Mechanic Simulator 2027.
Compared with the previous demo, this build adds two cars, the Bolt Nevada and the Lacroix Modique R, and expands the tutorial to help new players get started. Red Dot Games said publisher and internal testing found no major issues, but the player experience will be the real test of multiplayer.
Online play took longer to develop than the small team had planned. The studio said it underestimated the work involved in adding multiplayer to gameplay systems that had already gone through extensive changes. New challenges and the team’s quality standards also led to rewrites of some completed features.
Red Dot Games had hoped to finish the game in 2026, but now plans a simultaneous Q1 2027 release on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. After the demo becomes available, the team still plans to address any multiplayer issues that emerge, finish console work, and prepare for publishing.
