World of Warcraft’s Hallow’s End Brings Haunted Quests to Player Neighborhoods
The event runs from Oct. 19 to Nov. 2, with each neighborhood randomly assigned a Drustvar, Duskwood, or Felwood theme.

World of Warcraft’s 2026 Hallow’s End is underway through Nov. 2, and player housing neighborhoods have their own haunted activities this year. Each neighborhood receives a random Drustvar, Duskwood, or Felwood theme, with themed cosmetics, candy, and daily quests from Nomi. Blizzard’s event announcement also adds Candy Buckets throughout Quel’Thalas for the holiday.
To get started in a neighborhood, pick up the “A Haunted Home” quest from a Holiday Enthusiast, who directs you to Yin. The neighborhood’s activities build a shared Contribution bar. As it fills, decorations appear around the area and more candy becomes available at the Candy Bucket in the Neighborhood Holiday Hub.
Neighborhood quests turn candy into group progress
Community Candy Crawl is available for 15 minutes each hour in Founder’s Point and Razorwind Shores. Players collect candy from buckets outside occupied plots. Gathering 10 Neighborhood Candy rewards XP, 2 Trick Treats, and 3 Neighborhood Candy.
The daily Trick-or-Treating quest asks residents to pick up Discarded Wrappers near neighborhood Candy Buckets. Cleaning them helps fill the Contribution bar and increases the Haunted Candies available from the bucket. You can also tidy up in other neighborhoods to help their residents.
Ghost Busting sends players after ghosts with quest-earned Ghost Gear or equipment found nearby. Drop each captured ghost into the Ghost Tank. Once it holds 100 ghosts, players can start the hunt or save it for later. Starting the hunt summons the Shade of Seabreaker Skoloth, a ghostly sea giant. One player who answered the Reddit discussion describes the fight as soloable. Use the extra action button to pull the Shade toward a nearby Ghost Portal while dodging its fear and knockback effects. The portal appears as a rare icon on the map and minimap. Pull the Shade into it for a chest containing Tricky Treats and Neighborhood Candy. The Headless Horseman can also appear and summon another Shade elsewhere in the neighborhood.

You’re a Spider, Man offers a different way to raise neighborhood progress. Interact with a Webspinner Egg Sac to become a spider for 3 minutes, then spin up to 10 webs around the neighborhood. You can end the transformation early, but doing so starts a 15-minute cooldown.
There’s also a Wickerman piñata activity in the holiday hub, reached through a portal near Yin and the Wickerman. A daily quest adds 10 candies to the piñata. Once it is full, you can start the fight or save it for later. Starting it triggers a one-minute countdown, after which players can whack the piñata for Neighborhood Candy and collect bonus candy when it falls.
New decor and achievements reward neighborhood visits
Jolli Maxiboom in Razorwind Shores and Holly Twinklebright in Founder’s Point sell new home decor for gold. Echo in Undercity and Jack in Stormwind offer themed goods for Tricky Treats or gold. New items include the Spooky Scarecrow, Buckled Witch Hat, Heartsbane Ritual Markings, and Heartsbane Doom Catchers.
Several achievements track progress across the themed neighborhoods. Tricks and Treats of Midnight is earned by using Candy Buckets in Midnight zones, while Sweet Tooth requires completing the Duskwood, Felwood, and Drustvar achievements. A Frightening Friend rewards Scarecrow Pepe Housing Decor for finding Pepe in his spooky scarecrow costume, and I Ain’t Afraid of No Ghost requires collecting and depositing 10 ghosts in any neighborhood.
The Headless Horseman remains another daily reward path during the event. Characters levels 10 to 80 can queue for the encounter through Dungeon Finder, where one Ghoulish Armor transmog piece is guaranteed each day without duplicates. The encounter also offers a chance to earn the Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Charger Skyriding mount.
