DayZ Badlands is available now, with a 10% launch discount bringing the expansion to about $22.50. Bohemia Interactive confirmed the launch in its Steam announcement.
DayZ Badlands arrived on the October 15, 2026 date Bohemia had announced earlier. Base-game owners can also get Badlands and DayZ Frostline together through the Hot & Cool Bundle.
The expansion takes survivors to Nasdara, a 267 km² desert map and the largest terrain built for DayZ so far. Its arid spring adds a new season to the settings of Chernarus, Livonia, and Sakhal. Sun exposure and sandstorms pose new dangers, including heatstroke and silicosis. Water is needed not only for hydration, but also to cool down and rinse sand from a survivor’s eyes.
Nearly 5,000 structures can be rebuilt across Nasdara, including wells and irrigation tunnels. Survivors can also use radios to decode Morse transmissions containing coordinates and access codes for urban bunkers, giving motorbikes a second purpose beyond covering ground. Crashes use new ragdoll physics.

New clothing includes face wraps, dust goggles, lightweight gear, and desert camouflage. Weapons range from the Lee-Enfield to modern SCR firearms, while mouflons, desert monitors, territorial dogs, and infected add to the region’s threats.
Update 1.30 will bring motorbikes, select firearms, assets with reworked skins, and quality-of-life improvements to the base game. The update also requires a full wipe across all platforms. Bohemia is targeting October 16, 2026, for the first 1.30 patch on Steam’s Experimental branch, where it will focus on issues affecting modders. The stable patch for all platforms will follow later.
More detail is available in the Update 1.30 Experimental article, with separate patch notes for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
