Fence
Escape From Tarkov “Surprise Gift” Quest Guide
Find Ref's compromising information in Customs' three-story dorms and extract with it intact.
Surprise Gift is Lightkeeper’s route for handing over compromising information on Ref. Completing either Between Two Fires or Decisions, Decisions fails this quest and removes access to it.
Requirements and objectives
- You must be level 35 to start the quest.
- You must accept Fence’s Between Two Fires quest to obtain Surprise Gift. Accepting it is required, but completing it will lock you out of this quest.
- Return to the old champion’s hideout on Customs, find and obtain the compromising information on Ref, then hand it over.
Needed equipment
| Item | Amount | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Dorm overseer key | 1 | Required to unlock the room between rooms 209 and 211 in the three-story dorms. |
The compromising information is a quest item and handover item. It can only be found while Surprise Gift is active, is transferred to your quest item inventory when picked up, and has a found-in-raid requirement. If you fail to extract with it, you lose the item.
How to complete Surprise Gift
- Accept Between Two Fires to obtain Surprise Gift, but do not complete Between Two Fires or Decisions, Decisions while pursuing this task.
- On Customs, go to the second floor of the three-story dorms. Find the room between rooms 209 and 211 and unlock it with the Dorm overseer key.
- Look on the floor beside the wardrobe, in a puddle of blood, to find the compromising information. Pick it up only after the quest is active.
- Extract with the item, then complete the handover objective.
