Escape From Tarkov “Back Door” Quest Guide

Power up Reserve's D-2 exit, activate the door, and extract with Survived status to complete Mechanic's quest.

Back Door requires a successful D-2 extraction from Reserve. Turn on the power in the underground bunker, activate the exit beside its sliding door, then make sure the raid ends with Survived status. A Run Through will not complete the quest.

Requirements and objectives

The trader requirement is Mechanic loyalty level 3. Back Door is also required for the Kappa container.

  • Locate the secret underground bunker exit on Reserve.
  • Optional: Locate the switch that activates the exit.
  • Survive and extract from Reserve through the secret exit.

Needed equipment

No quest-specific equipment is listed.

How to complete Back Door

Reserve underground map marking the command-bunker power lever and the D-2 extraction at the western end of the upper tunnel.
Turn on the power lever in the command bunker, then press the wall button beside D-2’s sliding door. Extract with Survived status to complete Back Door.
  1. Find the underground bunker’s command section. The power lever is in the command part of the bunker system.
  2. Turn on the power. Activating the lever can cause Scav Raiders to spawn in the command section.
  3. Activate D-2. Go to the exit and press the button on the wall next to the sliding door. Although locating the switch is marked optional in the objectives, the exit procedure requires the power to be on and the wall button to be pressed.
  4. Extract through D-2 with Survived status. Run Through status does not count. To avoid it, earn at least 200 EXP in the raid through killing or looting, or remain in the raid for at least seven minutes before extracting.
