Escape From Tarkov “Between Two Fires” Quest Guide
Find Ref's compromising information in Customs' three-story dorms, then extract with it to hand it over to Fence.
You need the Dorm overseer key for Between Two Fires, and you must extract with the information before handing it over to Fence. The objective is inside Customs’ three-story dorms, in a room between rooms 209 and 211.
Requirements and objectives
Fence gives the quest, which takes place on Customs. The preceding quest is Against the Conscience – Part 2. Bring one Dorm overseer key to unlock the room. The key does not have a found-in-raid requirement.
- Return to the old champion’s hideout on Customs.
- Locate and obtain the compromising information on Ref.
- Hand the information over to Fence.
The information is a quest item that appears only while Between Two Fires is active. Picking it up moves it into your quest-item inventory, and it must be found in raid.

How to complete Between Two Fires
- Start the quest before searching. The information only appears while Between Two Fires is active.
- Go to the three-story dorms on Customs. On the second floor, find the room between rooms 209 and 211 and use the Dorm overseer key to open it.
- Pick up the information. It is on the floor in a puddle of blood next to the wardrobe. It transfers to your quest-item inventory.
- Extract with the item. If you fail to extract, you lose the information and will need to find it again.
- Hand it over to Fence after the raid to complete the quest.
Choose the Fence hand-in path
Between Two Fires is one of three quests tied to the information. Completing Decisions, Decisions for Ref or Surprise Gift for Lightkeeper fails Between Two Fires and removes access to it. If you intend to finish Fence’s quest, hand the item to Fence instead.
